The members of Oleeta West Dade Lodge are active members of their communities who believe in "giving back" a significant amount of their resources to enhance the lives of their fellowmen. They do this in many ways. Listed below are some of the charitable endeavors currently being supported by Oleeta West Dade Lodge:

1. The Alan Alexander Scholarship Fund

2. The Barnes Scholarship Fund

3. The Florida Masonic Home

4. A designated charity each month.

The Alan Alexander Scholarshp Fund was established in the 1970s by Brother Alan Alexander, now deceased. The original intent of the Scholarship Fund was to raise as much money as possible each year and then give it away to deserving High School Seniors who applied and were found worthy. Each student selected was given an amount according to their needs and their potential.

Over the years stricter guidelines have been established to govern the number of scholarships awarded and the amount given each successful applicant.

Upon his death, Brother Alexander left a portion of his estate to the scholarship fund with the stipulation that the interest from the bequest be  used to award the scholarships each year.

This year, four worthy students were awarded Scholarships. They are as follows.

Alexandra Gratereaux

Kristen Martinez

Tomas Matamoro

Saritza Mendoza
